Gold mines and going through the fire

In life, we will come across many sieves that each have their own purposes. Bakers will have certain sieves for taking lumps out of their various baking ingredients to make a deliciously light and fluffy bake. For something a little more unusual you can learn about test sieves used in particle analysis. You can navigate to this site to learn more.

However, back in 1848, gold panning was introduced as a way of finding valuable gold in amongst the mud at the beginning of the California Gold Rush period.

Today, there are many lessons we can learn from gold panning in order to bring ourselves through periods of personal enlightenment. This is particularly important when the majority of the world has experienced challenges as part of the same pandemic for over a year now.

But what are these lessons? Keep reading to find out.

What can we learn about ourselves from the process of gold panning?

Gold miners worked incredibly hard in order to harvest some of the gold we wear and that has been work for centuries. While it is reasonably easy for us to be able to get hold of a pair of gold earrings, a watch or a dainty necklace, the process in which to obtain said gold was much more challenging. It would often involve taking a sieve, placing it  in water and working through mud and slime in order to find gold nuggets. The quality of the gold nuggets would then be tested in order to give them value. From then these nuggets will go through many more different processes before they even get to a jeweller’s hands.

How can we relate to that in our everyday life?

There may be certain things in life that we experience that may feel like we are drowning in literal mud. We may feel overwhelmed and stuck in this mud . However in taking a sieve and working through the mud we are able to find the golden nuggets in life.

Find Your Nuggets

The past year has been the most challenging for all of us. It may be that you’ve experienced personal loss, you’ve lost the job, you’ve had plans cancelled, or your mental health has been impacted as a result of being in lockdown. Feeling overwhelmed and stressed are all very valid feelings and should never be ignored. However, it doesn’t mean that these feelings and experiences cannot be used in order to build a better life for ourselves.

As you know, down and dirty in the mode is the place that gold is found. Now most people will know that even once gold nuggets are found, that’s not the end. Gold must go through into the refiner’s fire before it can be transformed into it in its purest, most valuable state.

Life has a habit of putting us through things that we swear will be the end of us. However, at the end of the day, going through the things that we do only make us more strong, and more pure then we ever could have imagined. Where are you finding your golden nuggets today?
